Kori Miller is an emerging artist poised to take to the world’s operatic and choral stages. “Obviously talented and comfortable on stage” (Charleston Today), Miller is widely recognized for her charismatic characterization and “hauntingly beautiful notes” (Post and Courier).
Miller has enjoyed extensive success both as an active concert artist as well as professional choral singer. In 2024, she joined the Grammy Award-winning ensemble Voces8 on tour in Sweden, London, Germany, Switzerland, Brussels, Singapore, the USA, and Australia, where she made her Sydney Opera House debut. She can been seen performing with Voces8 on YouTube and the 2024 production of Live From London. Other recent engagements include Handel’s Messiah with Irving Symphony Orchestra, and performances with ensembles such as Grammy Award-winning ensemble, Conspirare (Austin, TX), Cincinnati’s Vocal Arts Ensemble (VAE), Audivi (Detroit, MI), Orpheus Chamber Singers (Dallas, TX), Dallas Bach Society, Verdigris Ensemble, Incarnatus, Taylor Festival Choir (Charleston, SC), and Franklin Chamber Choir (Franklin, TN).
In addition to concert and choral work, Miller was recently seen in the title role of Apolo in Durón’s Apolo y Dafne with Orchestra of New Spain (2023) at Moody Performance Hall in Dallas, TX. Additionally, Miller performed the lead role of Blanche Dubois in UNT Opera’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire by André Previn which just won the National Opera Association’s 2023 Opera Production Competition. Miller’s performance was noted by internationally renowned soprano Beverly Hoch as being "simply breathtaking… bravissima-in-the-highest… created exactly what Blanche wanted: magic”. Miller’s previous roles include Eve in Melani’s “Il Fratricidio di Caino'' at the Olomouc Baroque Festival in the Czech Republic (2022), Gianetta (L’elisir d’amore), Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Yum-Yum (The Mikado), and Lola Markham (Gallantry). In 2018, Miller was a Young Artist with Opera Naples, during which time she had the opportunity to coach extensively with Metropolitan Opera singers Bruce Ford, Sherill Milnes, and Verónica Villarroel.
Hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, Miller is currently based in Denton, Texas where she is undertaking a Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a related field in opera performance and vocal pedagogy at the University of North Texas. She is currently serving as a Teaching Fellow and studying under Dr. Stephen Austin and Dr. Stephen Morscheck.
